Mandated Reporter Training
Beginning in January 2020, any child-care worker affiliated with a church, whether in a paid capacity or as a volunteer, is now classified by the State of Illinois as a “mandated reporter.” No exceptions exist for occasional or sporadic service. Mandated reporters must complete training within three months of service once every three years.
We recognize this new mandate requires more time on your part, and we are so grateful to you. Please use the link below to complete an online training session with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Begin by registering for an account and follow the prompts on the screen. This training will take 60 minutes or less and can be completed all at once or as time allows. After you have completed the training, please print or send an electronic copy of your completed training certificate to the person who leads the area of ministry you serve most often. Alternatively, the certificate can be given to the church office. Thank you!
